New director of events named at XFinity Arena

Global Spectrum, management for the XFinity Arena at Everett, has named Ben Rowe to the director of events position. Rowe’s duties include managing the activities and operations for events throughout the facilities including coordinating event budgets, overseeing crowd management, production setup and contracted vendors.

‘After 4’ networking event planned at Skip Rock Distillers

A new event series from Economic Alliance Snohomish County is called After 4 Networking. This month’s After 4 Networking event is hosted by Skip Rock Distillers of Snohomish. It is scheduled for 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at 104 Ave. C, Snohomish. The event is free to attend. There will be a cash bar. Registration links are at www.economicalliancesc.org.

Frontier reaches phone deal with Granite Falls schools

Frontier Communications has a new commercial contract with the Granite Falls School District. The district needed to replace an existing 250-unit phone system that was fast approaching obsolescence. The new system is a state-of-the-art Mitel system with functionality to receive RSS feeds and capable of sending out emergency text and audible alerts to all personnel in case of a lockdown situation.

State ups medical benefits for crime victims

State medical benefits for victims of domestic violence and other crimes are going up on July 1. The Labor &Industries Crime Victims Compensation Program will increase available medical benefits from $50,000 to $150,000. The change means the total available for physical and mental health bills, burial reimbursement and time loss from work could be as much as $190,000.
