Snohomish County shops to participate in ‘yarn crawl’

The Puget Sound Local Yarn Shop Tour, possibly the first yarn crawl in North America, celebrates its 10th year at its May 13 through 17 event. Various stops on the tour will offer free patterns, yarn discounts and buttons. Participating shops include Perfectly Knotty in Granite Falls, Great Yarns in Everett, Country Yarns in Snohomish and Yarn of Eden at the Country Village in Bothell. State to honor workers killed in 2014

Those who died from work-related causes last year will be honored at Washington’s official Worker Memorial Day ceremony at 2 p.m. April 28 at the Department of Labor and Industries main building, 7273 Linderson Way SW, Tumwater. Surviving family members, friends and co-workers are invited to attend, and the event is open to the public. Many of the 89 workers honored have ties to Snohomish County. Builders sought to build doghouses, birdhouses for charity

Local non-profit Housing Hope is in need of local builders who want to build doghouses, birdhouses or book houses as donations for Housing Hope to sell at Sorticulture, Everett’s Garden Arts Festival, June 12 to 14 at Legion Memorial Park.
