Auston Matthews’ future remains up in the air. The superstar prospect is now considering three options for playing next season: Everett, the NCAA and the Swiss professional league. There were reports over the weekend that he had already signed with a Swiss team, then those were refuted by statements from Matthews and his “adviser.”
Tuesday evening we get a chance to hear straight from Matthews’ own mouth as he’s scheduled as a guest on The Pipeline Show, a hockey prospects radio show based out of Edmonton. He’s supposed to go on at 7 p.m. PDT, so we’ll find out if he reveals anything. Matthews is supposedly going to make his decision very soon, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility he’ll make his announcement tonight.
You can listen in on TSN 1260’s website.
—- UPDATE, 5:10 p.m.
Given the swirling circumstances, I can’t say this comes as a surprise:
Unfortunately the @usantdp and agent Pat Brisson have cancelled our Auston Matthews interview for tonight. We’ll have him soon. @DuckMillard
