Three-time MVP Lauren Jackson will miss the 2015 WNBA season after undergoing knee surgery, the Seattle Storm announced Tuesday.
“We are aware that Lauren has undergone another knee surgery and is currently recovering,” Storm president and general manager Alisha Valavanis said in a press release. “Lauren’s health and recovery remains the top priority as we continue the dialogue regarding her future in Seattle. We know at this time Lauren will not compete in the 2015 WNBA season.”
Jackson, 34, the league MVP in 2003, 2007 and 2010, has not played a full season in Seattle since 2010 because of injuries and Olympic commitments. She played in 13 games in 2011, nine in 2012 and sat out each of the past two seasons.
In 317 regular-season WNBA games, all with the Storm, Jackson has averaged 18.9 points and 7.7 rebounds.
