OSO — Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews plan to install new signs in early June on Highway 530 in Oso between Steelhead Drive and Whitehorse Trail. The signs will state that it is illegal to stop, stand or make a U-turn.
WSDOT has heard about safety concerns from family and community members regarding drivers abruptly make a U-turn and pulling over on the side of the road in the area. Three signs in each direction will be staggered along the approximately two miles of roadway near the site of the March 22, 2014 Oso mudslide.
