Prep softball: Meadowdale 12, Auburn-Mountainview 0; Prairie 5, Meadowdale 4

LACEY – A three-run walkoff home run lifted Prairie past Meadowdale in a 3A state quarterfinal contest Friday afternoon at the Regional Athletic Complex.

Jordan Shaw erased a two-run deficit in the bottom of the seventh with a three-run homer to put the Falcons into the 3A state semifinals. It’s the second consecutive season Prairie has defeated a Wesco 3A South team at the state tournament with a walkoff home run, with the Falcons topping Mountlake Terrace the same way last season.

McKenzie Beavin was 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Mavericks, who play Bainbridge in a state loser-out game Friday night. Beavin started a three-run fourth inning for Meadowdale with an RBI double, with the Mavericks adding runs on a wild pitch and an RBI groundout by Ciarra Hart.

The Mavericks (21-4 overall) added another run in the fifth on an error.

Meadowdale opened play at the state tournament Friday morning with a 12-0 win over Auburn-Mountainview
