LACEY – Samantha Gregoryk went 2-for-3 with three RBI and pitched a shutout with five strikeouts to lead Meadowdale past Kamiakin 12-0 and clinch a berth in the 3A state third-place game for the Mavericks Saturday morning at the Regional Athletic Complex.
Emma Helm was 2-for-3 with a three-run home run to get the scoring started for Meadowdale (24-4 overall) in the bottom of the first inning and Kaylee Williams went 3-for-3 with three runs scored for the Mavericks in the loser-out game.
Meadowdale faces the winner of Prairie-Kelso in the third/fourth-place game at 1:30 p.m. Prairie defeated the Mavericks 5-4 earlier in a 3A state quarterfinal game on Friday.
