This means Logan Aasman will not be back with Everett as an overager next season.
Aasman, a towering winger from Medicine Hat, Alberta, is one of seven players from last season’s team who was eligible for Everett’s three overage roster spots next season. Aasman spent three seasons with the Tips. Last season he had two goals and nine assists in 40 games as he dealt with concussion issues.
Aasman’s departure means there are just six players remaining to battle for the three overager slots. That group includes winger Nikita Scherbak, last season’s leading scorer, who as a signed first-round NHL draft pick is highly unlikely he’ll be returned to junior.
The other five overage candidates are forwards Carson Stadnyk, Remi Laurencelle and Jake Mykitiuk, defenseman Cole MacDonald and goaltender Austin Lotz.
