EVERETT — The knife attacks that sent two men to hospitals Friday night were unprovoked.
That’s what several witnesses told Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies shortly after the stabbings at a recreational vehicle park at Keelers Corner, 16101 Highway 99, north of Lynnwood.
Witnesses said the suspect, 41, walked around the park yelling that someone had stolen his motorcycle.
They told deputies that the suspect then approached a man who was standing outside of his friend’s motor home and stabbed him in the back without any provocation. The victim, 34, suffered a wound that was about two inches deep. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The suspect then allegedly chased down and stabbed another man in the chest, stomach and arm. That victim, 22, was taken to Swedish/Edmonds hospital.
The suspect’s actions were consistent “with someone who was attempting to inflict great bodily harm on both of this victims,” deputies wrote in a statement to establish probable cause for the arrest.
The suspect only stopped when witnesses forced him, the report said. That’s when he ran off.
A police dog tracked him down. The suspect was bitten by the dog and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment before being booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
The suspect was described as a transient who sometimes sleeps at the trailer park and sometimes in the woods. He has a history of assaults and felonies and is being held on $50,000 bail.
