Rounds two through seven of the NHL draft took place Saturday in Sunrise, Fla., and there were no Everett players selected. That means defenseman Noah Juulsen, who was picked 26th overall in Friday’s first round, was the only Silvertip picked this year.
Two other Everett players, defensemen Tristen Pfeifer and Kevin Davis, were ranked by Central Scouting heading into the draft. However, both were ranked in the range where it was highly questionable whether they’d be selected, so Everett having no others drafted is not a surprise.
There was, however, another piece of NHL-related Silvertips news today as goaltender Austin Lotz tweeted the following:
Very excited to be joining the @BuffaloSabres for development camp next week!

There were a total of 35 WHLers selected in this year’s NHL draft. Regina, with five players selected, had the most among WHL teams. As far as I know there were no Everett list players who are playing elsewhere, such as 2012 bantam draft pick Alec Mehr, who were drafted.
