SPOKANE — Investigators say a former Pasco police officer charged with murder has made concerted efforts in jail phone calls to contact a former girlfriend who is now a witness for the prosecution.
The Spokesman-Review reported that the woman told police she went to Richard Aguirre’s and found a picture of Ruby Doss on his television, which was connected to the internet.
Police say Aguirre knows the woman is likely to be called as a witness and is looking for her contact information to convince her to testify falsely.
Spokane police last month arrested Aguirre in connection with the 1986 killing of 27-year-old Doss. He became a suspect through a DNA match.
Aguirre is currently in the Spokane County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and voyeurism.
