ARLINGTON — A small brush fire broke out in the median of I-5 at about 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon just north of the Stillaguamish River bridge.
The fire measured about 300 feet by 75 feet, said Captain Eric Ensign of the North County Regional Fire Authority. Units from the authority, Fire District 19 in Silvana and the Arlington City Fire Department put the fire out in about 20 minutes.
Units accessed the fire from the northbound lanes, reducing traffic to one lane while fighting the fire.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
