Mountlake Terrace will get financial support for revitalizing Main Street as part of the state’s capital budget that the governor signed Tuesday.
The capital budget, supported by the state’s bonding authority, includes $1.3 million for main street revitalization in Mountlake Terrace.
Democratic 1st Legislative District Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, who announced the grant Thursday, said that this and other state-supported capital projects in her district will create more than 45,000 jobs over the next two years and invest more than $7 million in the district.
The 1st District includes most of Mountlake Terrace, all of Brier and Bothell, unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell, north Kirkland, and unincorporated areas of King County between Bothell and Kirkland.
The capital budget, which is distinct from the biennial operating budget or the transportation budget, will not be final until the legislature passes one more bond bill, expected in the coming week.
Terrace City Manager Arlene Fisher said Wednesday that she could not comment until she sees the final capital budget.
