OLYMPIA — Gov. Jay Inslee will be briefly heading to Canada this week to speak at the Climate Summit of the Americas.
Inslee spokeswoman Jaime Smith said Inslee will leave the state Tuesday and will give a speech at the summit on Wednesday. He’ll return to the state later that day. The summit, which takes place in Toronto, Ontario, will have various other speakers, including former Vice President Al Gore.
According to its website, the summit is bringing together various jurisdictions, environmental groups and others to work toward “commitments to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and highlight opportunities for investing in a global low carbon economy.”
