How hypocritical of your paper to publish this Washington Post editorial, “Upholding the law a duty, not an option.” Do we uphold all laws or just the ones the left and your paper agree with?
Where was your outrage when Attorney General Eric Holder stated that the government would no longer enforce the “Defense of Marriage Act”? I guess that upholding the law is optional for this government employee. It is a very long list of laws that this administration has failed to uphold.
Where was your outrage when the Obama administration failed to uphold the law regarding numerous portions the Affordable Care Act?
And close to home. The state of Washington passed a law legalizing marijuana which is currently against federal law. Our federal government has stated it will not enforce that current law in our state. Where is your outrage that Washington is not upholding federal law? If Washington can pass a law in violation of federal law and not uphold federal law, then why can other states pass laws in defiance of federal law and not uphold federal law? Or do you defend the upholding of only the laws that your paper agrees with?
