Extra ferry sailings will be added on the Mukilteo-Clinton route to and from Whidbey Island to assist travelers while the Highway 20 Deception Pass bridges are closed for overnight paving.
The additional trips are:
Leaving Clinton at 9 p.m., 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 a.m.
Leaving Mukilteo at 9:30 p.m., 2, 3 and 4 a.m.
Vehicles taking the ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville after the 5:15 p.m. sailing will not be able to cross the Deception Pass bridges on Highway 20. Drivers should plan to use the Clinton-Mukilteo ferry and I-5 as an alternate route to travel north.
Contractor crews for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. starting the night of July 12 and reopening the morning of July 17. The bridges are too narrow to leave a lane open during paving. The bridges will be open daily between the closures.
Work schedules are subject to change. Keep track of the latest at www.wsdot.wa.gov.
