Today’s story by Herald Writer Amy Nile on the new brewery Dreadnought Brewery puts forth the idea of Monroe becoming a craft beer mecca.
Along with Dreadnought, Route 2 Taproom, which offers a number of hard-to-find craft beers on tap, opened earlier this month and another brewery, Prison Break Brewery, is slated to open in the fall.
According to Monroe mayor Geoffrey Thomas, Monroe can easily become a craft beer destination.
“I certainly am very supportive of having breweries, taprooms and alehouses become part of Monroe’s landscape,” he said. “I think it’d be really exciting if that was one of the many reasons people come to Monroe.”
It’s an interesting idea, especially with the dearth of breweries on the eastside of Snohomish County.
