GRANITE FALLS — Firefighters have been battling a brush fire near Granite Falls since Friday.
The fire is contained but not out yet, according to the state’s Department of Natural Resources Northwest Region dispatch.
DNR crews will continue working the fire through the night, a DNR dispatcher said.
The fire was first reported Friday near the Granite Falls Fishway, a 540-foot-long fish ladder on the South Fork Stillaguamish River.
Steep terrain, dense underbrush and extremely dry conditions hampered crews efforts.
