I’m back for a few days, so here’s another update of Silvertips news that happened while I was away.
First off, we’re on the verge of the fourth month of the Auston Matthews watch, and we still don’t know where he will play next season. The U-18 World Championships ended on April 26, and ever since then we’ve been a week or two away from his decision, yet it’s still to come.
Meanwhile, it seems the pull of Europe has spread among Everett’s Arizona-based prospects. Now 99-born forward Carson Dimoff and 00-born forward Ryan Savage are headed to Austria to play for Red Bull Salzburg’s youth teams.
This is yet another development the Tips don’t need. Savage is too young to play for Everett this season, but Dimoff is entering his 16-year-old season and had to be considered a candidate to make the Tips roster.
Here’s an article from an unknown newspaper about Dimoff and Savage heading to Austria, which Dimoff tweeted out:

In the story the duo says they don’t know how long their European venture will last. Everett will be hoping it’s a one-year detour that leads back to the Tips. But what it means for sure is that Everett will once again be forced to wait out the decisions of some of its top prospects.
