Snohomish County engineer honored by traffic institute
Snohomish County Public Works Traffic Operations manager and county traffic engineer Jim Bloodgood has been awarded the 2015 Outstanding Service Award by the Washington Section of The Institute of Transportation Engineers. He was recognized for his active involvement with the institute for 35 years. Bloodgood will also be speaking at the group’s upcoming Western District annual meeting in Las Vegas.
Bothell’s EagleView Tech subsidiary recognized
Bothell-based EagleView Technology Corp. has announced that its subsidiary, Pictometry International Corp., has obtained gold status within the Esri Partner Network. Pictometry has been a silver member of the Partner Network for many years, providing important integrations and content for the Esri platform.
Enrollment open for Columbia College in Everett/Marysville
Enrollment for the August 2015 session at Columbia College — Naval Station Everett/Marysville is now open. The session is set to begin Aug. 17, but students can register through Aug. 19 for online classes. The registration deadline for in-seat classes is Aug. 21. Classes will be completed in eight weeks. EdCC hosted Food Matters event
Edmonds Community College hosted its Food Matters event June 2. The event was born from low-income community members not getting enough information regarding accessing food. All of the data gathered at the event is being turned into a report that will be shared back with the community and community organizations.
PUD to add new substations, replace cables and poles
Snohomish County PUD plans a number of new improvements this year including building three substations. Several other substations will be upgraded. The PUD also plans to replace about 900 aging poles and up to 50 miles of aging underground cable. About 100 miles of direct buried cable will be tested and roughly 10,000 poles will be assessed and treated.
