Kids Film Fest: The Everett Film Festival is sponsoring a free children’s film festival on Aug. 19 at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Festival organizers plan to screen some animated film shorts and the feature film “Song of the Sea.” The doors open at 2 p.m. with the shorts beginning at 2:15 and the feature starting at 2:30 p.m. Call the library at 425-257-8000.

Jetty Island Days: Ferries from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays, through Sept. 7 at 10th Street and W. Jetty Island events: Puppet shows: 2:15 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 31. Junior sailors and mermaids follow the adventures of Charlie Seagull, L.C. Salmon, Ollie and Olivia Octopus, and their friends. Port Susan Bay Day: The Nature Conservancy is inviting the public out to its Port Susan Preserve on Aug. 1 for an afternoon of family fun. The event is from 1 to 4 p.m. at 9800 Boe Road, south of Stanwood. The day will provide visitors an opportunity to explore the beautiful landscape, learn from scientists about conservation, wildlife, estuaries and climate change and bird watch with professionals.
