SEATTLE — Part of Washington state will get a break from the heat this week after a record number of 90-plus-degree days.
The Seattle Times reported Monday that high temperatures for the upcoming week will range from the mid-70s to 80 degrees at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and that by the weekend, there will be a chance of rain.
The temperature at the airport has reached or topped 90 degrees twelve times so far this year, breaking the previous record of nine days set in 1958.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center says warmer and drier-than-normal conditions are still expected in western Washington for the next three months.
