When our Makers put us here, we were given the responsibility of protecting and sharing our world with many other species. Somehow our species became entitled and arrogant, greedy and just plain ignorant. We thought these creatures were ours to do with whatever we wanted to, so we began killing them off by the millions and millions. Now we are sharing space with a mere fraction of the animals we were once meant to live in peace with. We have murdered them for adornment, for makeup, for meat, fur and for fun. The animals meant to be used for food are plentiful … those who were not meant for food are suffering and being lost to us forever.
To think someone would rather see the decapitated head of a glorious animal on their wall rather than watching it live in the wild, flourishing and enjoying its life makes me sick inside. Some rhinos now have 24-hour body guards … our elephants are disappearing by the hundreds and now Cecil, a beloved ambassador for all lions, was senselessly murdered by an arrogant “big game hunter” from Minnesota. His name isn’t even relevant. Cecil’s name is. God bless you, Cecil, and all your wild brothers and sisters who have left this life at the hands of some ignorant trophy hunter. I long to see you all again one day very soon when I take my trip over the rainbow bridge. I apologize to you for my species. We didn’t realize the magnitude of our actions. Please forgive us.
