SEATTLE — Seattle’s Space Needle is the first building in the U.S. to use the PanoCam — a panoramic camera that takes continuous 360-degree images of the city.
King-TV reported that the camera will take shots from 605 feet above the city every 10 minutes. It will start an hour before sunrise and stop an hour after sunset daily.
The photos will be archived and available to the public. They date back to Jan. 1.
The photos will help capture Seattle’s changing skyline, as well as gather “best shots” of the city during clear days or on unusual weather events.
The PanoCam is some of the newest panoramic image capturing technology.
Archived and live photos can be viewed from the PanoCam at The Space Needle’s website.
