I am attempting once again to obtain the answer to a simple question, “Why is it necessary to have nonprofit organizations soliciting money to help our wounded veterans?”
I have sent correspondence to Sens. Murray and Cantwell asking this exact question. Sen. Murray’s office did not respond. Sen. Cantwell’s office responded with comments of how important veterans are to this country. I have been unable to find out why the United States legislative and executive branches sent young men and women to war, yet take no responsibility for the wounded. Now we continue to hear “send money to help our veterans” and I would like to know why? Why is the United States not stepping up to take care of these brave men and women? As a citizen and veteran I would appreciate knowing the answer to my question.
Many people are running for office and beating the drum how they would stop ISIS and what they would do against Iran. These people had a debate and did not mention how they are going to take care of wounded veterans. The military industrial complex pays to elect people in both parties, in order to build more weapons, but the people in the uniforms, are not a concern.
This is not a Democrat problem or a Republican problem, it is an American problem. We the people need to get out and vote! All the politicians can do is raise more money and indebt themselves even deeper.
I am still waiting for the answer!
