Here we go again, Waste Management wants to increase your rates for garbage!
I adamantly oppose any rate increases for the insatiable Waste Management company.
Their last increase included hedges against an expected uptick in fuel costs, which we the consumers have now paid, but that did not actually happen!
See the chart here at tinyurl.com/EIAdieselchart.
Furthermore the deplorable practice of allowing them to charge when service was not performed as in labor disputes or inclement weather instances should be stopped. I had to pay them, even though they were having a labor dispute. I got no service, some consumers did receive a $10 bill credit, but Everett didn’t have a contract with these guys, so not here, when I protested they threatened to send me to collections!
They have a monopoly here, why can’t we ask them to re-bid the contract with the other two waste service providers before any action on yet another request for more of the hard-earned taxpayer’s money?
Also, why can’t they pick up the paper or other windblown items they spill with their automated equipment? If I left a mess like that I’d expect a ticket for littering!
