LOS ANGELES — Crystal Langhorne scored 18 points, including a go-ahead layup with 2:34 remaining, and the Seattle Storm rallied to beat the Los Angeles Sparks 85-77 on Tuesday, spoiling Candace Parker’s big night.
Parker had 12 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists — narrowly missing the WNBA’s sixth triple-double. Margo Dydek, Lisa Leslie, Sheryl Swoopes, Deanna Nolan and Temeka Johnson are the only WNBA players with regular-seasons triple-doubles.
After Langhorne’s layup, Jenna O’Hea hit a 3-pointer on Seattle’s next possession and Langhorne had a putback to cap the Storm’s 7-0 run for an 81-74 lead. After Kristi Toliver hit a 3-pointer to cut Los Angeles’ deficit to 81-77, Jewell Loyd hit a fadeaway jumper with the shot clock winding down and O’Hea made two free throws with 24 seconds to go.
Sue Bird, Jewell Loyd and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis added 15 points apiece for Seattle (6-17). Mosqueda-Lewis scored 12 first-half points to set a career-high.
Jantel Lavender added 22 points for Los Angeles (7-16).
