Pooper Tuesday: The good news is that Washington state voters will still get to mark ballots in a presidential primary next year. The bad news is that they’ll have to wait until May 24. A proposal to move the primary to March 8, a week after Super Tuesday, failed to get needed support from Democrats who didn’t want the primary to overshadow their party caucuses.
The later primary could mean that the various campaigns will scale back their TV ad buys in the state. That’s good news, unless you were looking forward to stirring, patriotic ads with amber waves of Donald Trump’s blond comb-over.

Channel-surfing the vast cultural wasteland: The Food Network explores the nation’s best state fair fare in “Carnival Cravings with Anthony Anderson,” who in tonight’s episode bites into “redneck egg rolls” and a bacon-wrapped deep-fried dessert.
Meh. “Bacon-wrapped” is so 2014. But we’re intrigued if a “redneck egg roll” is a can of Bud Light in a beer koozie. Deep-fried, of course. And on a stick.

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1939, the MGM movie musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” starring Judy Garland had its world premiere at the Strand Theater in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, three days before opening in Hollywood.
“Oconomowoc,” by the way, is a Dakota Sioux phrase for “We’re not in Kansas, anymore.”
