SEATTLE — A man has pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder after injecting his then-4-year-old son with heroin, ketamine and other drugs.
The Seattle Times reported 39-year-old Eric Lehtinen pleaded guilty Thursday as part of a plea deal. He now faces up to 20 years in prison.
Court documents say that Lehtinen’s estranged wife agreed to let their son stay the night with his father on Sept. 23, 2013, believing Lehtinen’s claims that he had stop using and dealing drugs.
The boy’s mother entered the home the following day and found the father and son unresponsive in bed.
They were both treated for an overdose. Doctors said the boy had several puncture wounds from needles on his neck and buttocks.
Lehtinen will be sentenced Sept. 4.
