EUGENE — The Everett AquaSox scored three runs in the first inning, including a two-run home run by Alex Jackson, and held on for a 6-3 win Friday night against the Eugene Emeralds in a Northwest League baseball game at PK Park.
Jackson’s two-run homer was his fourth of the season.
Everett’s Yordi Calderon hit a home run in the second inning to increase the AquaSox’s lead to 4-0.
Eugene cut the lead to 4-2 in the third on an RBI double by Donnie Dewees and an RBI single by Eloy Jimenez.
A balk by Eugene starting pitcher Oscar De La Cruz allowed Jordan Cowan to score from third in the fourth inning to increase Everett’s lead to 5-2.
An RBI triple by Eugene’s Blake Headley in the sixth cut Everett’s lead to 5-3.
Everett added an insurance run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Calderon.
Everett starting pitcher Luiz Gohara (3-4) got the win, pitching five innings, allowing two runs on five hits while walking one and striking out six.
