SPANAWAY — Pierce County prosecutors have charged an 18-year-old man with manslaughter in the accidental shooting death of his friend.
The News Tribune of Tacoma reported that Isaac Nettles was charged Monday with first-degree manslaughter. Authorities say he shot his friend in the head Saturday afternoon while showing off a revolver he had just bought legally for $50.
Pierce County sheriff’s detective Lynelle Anderson says Nettles was horsing around with the gun when it fired and hit his 18-year-old friend, Alatino Bolden, of Spanaway.
Court records show that Nettles had emptied four rounds out of the gun. He told detectives that he thought the gun was not loaded, that Bolden was his friend and there wasn’t an argument between them.
