I was blown away by the endorsement of the Seattle Times of John Lovick’s opponent for Snohomish County Executive in the primary election. The Times mentioned Lovick’s law enforcement experience with the Washington State Patrol, which in my opinion, is no more than being a AAA responder with a gun. His tenure as sheriff resulted in Snohomish County rising to the No. 1 county in the state in heroin use and overdose deaths. His lack of experience in good decision making and leadership on county issues as Snohomish County Executive has been and will continue to be, if re-elected, unnecessarily costly and injurious to our citizens and to the future of our county. Lovick is a very nice person, but isn’t time to quit placing people in jobs who are not qualified?
