Sometimes, in The Daily Herald, my head spins with what I read. On Sunday, concerning the Denny Juvenile Justice Center, and Monday, the “Teacher’s conduct faulted” article.
The Denny Juvenile Justice Center reported that Ron Gipson has not worked since February 2014 and has been paid while being investigated for sexual harassment charges. Now we read that he also was paid $23,865 for “overtime he most likely would have gotten” if he were working. Are you kidding me?
Monday I read that Snohomish School District has paid $33,000 for an investigation of teacher Bill Nicolay’s inappropriate contact with a student. This was his third offense since 2005, and includes sleeping in a tent with a high school girl. He gets paid time off during the investigation. He is found guilty and … wait for it … he gets two more weeks paid time off when school starts! What a punishment!
This is just the tip of the iceberg! Another example are the officers at Monroe prison, lying and falsifying records to cover their butts after the murder of Jayme Biendl. Yep, jobs back and back pay for all!
Apparently all bad deeds go unpunished and paid for within the public unions’ stranglehold on the taxpayers.
How did we give them so much power? Is no one held accountable for their actions? Why are these public employees still working? Makes me sick!
