Hand wringing about the drone problem could be greatly reduced by regulating them just as we do automobiles. All drones should be licensed, and identified with a specifically positioned microchip, and/or a transmitter to broadcast the drone’s identification and global position. All drone operators should be licensed and required to carry adequate liability insurance. Air space regulations for these vehicles can be written. License fees and fines for disobeying the regulations can be set sufficiently high to cover the cost of carrying out the licensing and the cost of policing.
