I’m one of those long time residents of the Puget Sound who has a hard time picking what to do on the weekends — just too many choices! When I decided to attend the Taste of Edmonds late Saturday this year (for only the second time in three decades), many of the booths were shutting down already. Fortunately, one of the first booths still open was The Daily Herald. I have been a proponent of the content of The Herald since I regularly began reading it six months ago. And this is coming from a former Seattle Times paperboy from the late 1970s. So, with all the craft, food, and entertainment booths at our disposal for only a couple hours, I get my brother to sign up for a year’s service. Sure, it took about 15 minutes and the rest of our group was grumbling, but I know my brother will now enjoy the great local stories and comprehensive news, sports and entertainment features I’ve been bragging about for half-a-year. The food and entertainment kept us merry right up until closing and my teenage kids are still talking about the great night. Now if The Herald can just add KenKen to its puzzles page, my brother will be able to cancel his Seattle Times subscription.
