The Mill Creek library has been searching for a new location due to limited parking, outgrown facilities, etc. It’s clearly too small for the growing city. For example, there are only two comfortable chairs for reading in the entire library and parking for only three dozen cars.
The recently vacated Safeway store at 132nd and Highway 527 would be a perfect location and could accommodate both the library and the Mill Creek Senior Center, which is poorly located in a warehouse building.
At 55,000 square feet, the new building would be a great location with ample parking. Over time, the other businesses in the Gateway shopping mall could become educational or service-oriented, which would provide a unique “cultural” flavor truly reflective of Mill Creek’s distinct personality.
