EVERETT — Ryan Uhl hit a home run and double to lead the Everett AquaSox to a 7-2 victory over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes on Sunday at Everett Memorial Stadium in a Northwest League baseball game.
The AquaSox hit five doubles and Uhl went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Uhl put the Frogs on the board in the bottom of the second with a two-run home run to left field. Uhl then led off the fourth with a double and scored on Conner Hale’s double.Hale scored on Braden Bishop’s double to give Everett a 4-0 lead.
The AquaSox’s Corey Simpson led off the fifth with a double and scored on Luis Liberato’s double. Liberato stole third and scored on P.J. Jones’ sacrifice fly to increase Everett’s lead to 6-0.
Rohn Pierce earned the win with five innings of scoreless relief. He allowed four hits while walking two and striking out five.
AquaSox shortstop Drew Jackson, who went 4-for-4 to raise his league-leading batting average to .387 on Saturday, did not play. Jackson also stole three bases on Saturday, giving him a league-high 40 for the season.
