SEATTLE — A standoff between police officers and a suspected killer ended in gunfire under Seattle’s Magnolia Bridge.
KOMO-TV reported that the man suspected of beating a woman to death was brought into custody early Tuesday after an officer shot him in the leg.
Police had responded to the bridge Monday night after reports of an assault. Officers found a woman beaten to death and another man with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the suspect, who was armed with a stick or other weapon, was naked inside a tent where he refused to comply with officers’ commands.
The suspect eventually emerged from the tent and was shot by one officer in the leg. He is receiving treatment at Harborview Medical Center.
Investigations into the woman’s death and into the officer-involved shooting are under way.
