United Way volunteer honored for his work
Long-time Snohomish County resident and volunteer Steve Ahern received one of United Way of Snohomish County’s most prestigious volunteer awards and threw out the first pitch at the Everett AquaSox game on Monday, Aug. 17. The 70-year-old received the 2015 Roger Bouck Award for Volunteerism in Action for his long history of service in the County.
Apply for tourism development funds in Snohomish
The City of Snohomish is accepting applications from non-profit agencies for projects that assist tourism development and promotion in the City of Snohomish. The program is funded through the taxes imposed on lodging room rentals in the city. The application deadline is Sept. 18. UW Bothell hosts ‘3D Printing Hackathon’ for teens
UW Bothell hosted a 3D Printing Hackathon by teens for teens on Aug. 21 and 22. Participants invented unique products to solve real-world problems in schools using 3D printing technologies. More than 20 organizations and corporations partnered on the event, including UW Bothell, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, Leo Club, Kids Without Borders and Free the Children.
