Everett grad earns Lions service award

Everett Central Lions Club’s 2015 Community Service Award was presented to Cooper James, a recent graduate from Everett High School who has spent hundreds of hours helping others in the community.

Among James’ many activities were teaching the disabled how to ski, helping young students improve their academic and leadership skills, chairing an annual dance for special-needs kids, and working on local civic projects in Puerto Rico. He also participated in monthly meetings of the Everett School District fiscal advisory committee, maintained a high GPA and earned the Eagle Scout rank.

This fall, James will attend the University of Washington to major in biology. He plans to study to become a doctor.
