The controversy over Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server continues and rightfully so. The David Ignatius column “Clinton not only one with email problem” in Monday’s Herald attempts to make all of her shortcomings in this regard OK because others have done the same thing. No, they have not. None of the people he mentioned set up and used their own private server to conduct their business. Nor did they destroy thousands of emails that had been on their private server for two years after a House committee had subpoenaed them. The latter is clearly obstruction of justice and should be prosecuted. Despite her denials she also sent and received classified or top secret emails on her private system which is against government policy and could have been easily hacked by our enemies. Former CIA director Gen. David Petraeus lost his job and was punished for having taken classified material home with him.
I believe that President Obama is complicit in this matter and knew about the private server but lied when he said he first heard about it on the news. Does that answer sound familiar? He was afraid the truth would get out about his involvement in the Benghazi issue and wanted no evidence of what really happened. Ignatius and his colleagues in the media are bending over backward in giving Hillary Clinton and President Obama a pass on this and other issues. Quit making excuses and report the news. Our country is fed up with being lied to by the media and politicians.
