SEATTLE — Odyssey Sims had 24 points and four assists to lead the Tulsa Shock to an 85-67 victory over the Seattle Storm in WNBA action Thursday night.
Plenette Pierson scored 17 points, Brianna Kiesel had 13 and Karima Christmas added 10 for Tulsa (16-14), which has won six straight.
Seattle (9-21), which dropped three games behind Los Angeles in the race for the final Western Conference playoff spot, rested veteran point guard Sue Bird. The Storm play at Chicago on Sunday before a home-and-home series with West-leading Minnesota.
Rookie Jewell Loyd, the No. 1 pick in this year’s WNBA draft, led the Storm with 16 points and six assists.
Sims and Pierson scored seven points apiece, and Kiesel made a layup to cap a 14-8 run to give that gave the Shock its largest lead, 65-42 with 4:18 to play in the third quarter.
The Storm pulled to 67-53 with 1:31 left in the third quarter. The Shock opened the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run and cruised from there.
