We apparently have movement on the Fred Jackson situation:

Jackson, the eight-year veteran running back who was cut by the Buffalo Bills on Monday, was in Seattle for a visit and a physical on Tuesday. The oldest running back in the league at 34 years old, Jackson has gained more than 5,000 yards in his NFL career, and Seattle coach Pete Carroll spoke effusively about Jackson’s abilities as a receiver out of the backfield (Jackson had 66 catches last season). Jackson is also good friends with Seahawks starting tailback Marshawn Lynch dating back to the days when the two were teammates with the Bills from 2007-10.
This signing would muddy Seattle’s situation at running back heading into Saturday’s 1 p.m. deadline for teams to cut down from 75 to 53 players. The presumption coming into training camp was that the Seahawks would retain veterans Robert Turbin and Christine Michael as the back-ups to Lynch.
However, Turbin suffered a sprained ankle in Seattle’s third preseason game against San Diego, and his status is unknown. Meanwhile, rookie free agent Thomas Rawls had an outstanding preseason, capping it off with an 11-carry, 87-yard effort in Thursday’s preseason finale against Oakland. If Jackson is added to the mix, that gives Seattle five legitimate options for what would seem to be three roster spots.
Expect a lot more roster action at running back between now and 1 p.m. Saturday.

That would help clear up the logjam created by the reported signing of Fred Jackson. Tough luck for Turbin, though. The timing on that ankle injury couldn’t have been much worse.
