Mountlake Terrace has set up a large container for tree debris at the vacant Civic Center site at 232nd Street SW and 58th Avenue W. Dispose of branches and leaves only. The container will be available to city residents and businesses through Sunday, unless it’s filled sooner. For more information, call 425-670-8264.

American Legion Memorial Park closing: All of American Legion Memorial Park will close Tuesday for several months while state crews clear contaminated dirt. The southern part of the popular park in Everett has been closed since July. The entire park is to reopen in the spring. For more information, call 425-446-1024.

Volunteers needed: A six-week training session for prospective volunteers at Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County will be held in Everett. Classes will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Oct. 19 through Nov. 16, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.

Flutist to perform at Mukilteo Library: Peter Ali, a Native American musician, will perform at 3 p.m. Sept. 26. Ali plays a variety of flutes and shares their stories for all ages. The library is at 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. More information: 425-493-8202.
