RICHLAND — A former Richland nanny has been sentenced to 4 1/2 years in prison in connection with the death of a toddler in her care.
The Tri-City Herald reports 31-year-old Kelli Jacobsen was sentenced Thursday in front of a packed courtroom. A jury found her guilty of second-degree manslaughter in July.
Ryder Morrison died in the hospital in 2011, a day after his first birthday. Doctors say he had suffered abusive head trauma. Jacobsen had been Ryder’s live-in nanny.
Jacobsen’s first trial in 2013 ended in a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision.
