SEATTLE — King’s Cooper Wright ran for 47 yards and two touchdowns for the Knights en route to their victory over Lynden in a non-league football game Friday. Caleb Perry also scored for King’s, scampering for a 66-yard touchdown.
The Knights went from a passing team to a running team in the second quarter when starting quarterback Koa Wilkins exited the game with a shoulder injury. He did not return. Fullback Jackson Whitaker, acting as the emergency QB, took over the offense. He rushed for 59 yards on nine carries. Perry also carried the ball nine times and recorded 75 yards on the ground.
Lynden’s Jordan Wittenberg returned a kick 89 yards for a touchdown, and Sterling Somers ran for a 3-yard score.
