Learn about beavers
A night with the beavers: Adopt a Stream Foundation welcomes people to learn more about beavers, their habits and habitats at 7 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Northwest Stream Auditorium at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. The audience will have the chance to see a beaver dam on North Creek and watch the IMAX movie “Beavers.” The event is free with donations accepted. To reserve a seat, call 425-316-8592.
Free shredding in Mill Creek: The city plans a free shredding event for documents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at City Hall.
People can bring up to four boxes of paperwork. It is not necessary to remove staples, paper clips or fasteners. The Mill Creek Food Bank also will be collecting donations of nonperishable food.
Art show coming to Terrace: The 37th Annual Arts of the Terrace opens Sept. 26 and runs through Oct. 11. The show attracts top artists from around the region. It is free and open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 and Oct. 4, and 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 11. More info: 425-771-7068.
Clean up Ballinger Park: A volunteer cleanup day is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at Ballinger Park, 23000 Lakeview Drive. Meet in the parking lot in comfortable work clothes, with gardening gloves and tools. More info: 425-776-1811.
