I am concerned with the terrible roadway conditions around Marysville Pilchuck High School. I don’t know why it has been so neglected, but many of us parents feel it is almost a crime that it’s in such an awful state.
While I realize not much can be done about the use of perhaps too many speed bumps, the roadway desperately needs to be completely repaved.
The worst portion is after you pass where buses load, and drive along the west side, through the trees to reach the shop program area on the north side.
It literally has about 10 or more bad potholes and dips in the pavement. This, combined with three or four more speed bumps, makes for some very rough terrain.
Once you reach the shop area, you can head east to another large parking lot, which numerous cars do during the day.
When taking a student to and from this area, one must go over and back over 35 bumps and/or holes and rough terrain daily. Many families are upset about this. The roadway is actually painful, and also makes for upset stomachs.
I don’t know if the school can afford to fix this. I was told their maintenance department is who it falls on. However, all they do is very, very minor pothole dabbling. There have been no improvements whatsoever!
We are hopeful there is some real help for this hazard affecting the public high school and its attendees. I appreciated your attention regarding this concern.
