Renowned Italian glass artist and master glass maker Lino Tagliapietra works on a piece at the Schack Art Center in Everett on Tuesday morning. Tagliapietra will be at work from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Sept. 11 in the glass studio at the Center. Located at 2921 Hoyt Ave., the Schack invites the public to observe Tagliapietra blowing glass. Admission is free. Born on the island of Murano, Italy, Tagliapietra started from a young age working in the island’s glass furnaces and factories. Since his early 20s, he has been regarded as a maestro (master glass blower) and was granted that title at a time when he worked for some of the most prestigious glassworks companies in Murano.
