TACOMA — All of Sound Transit’s Southline trains were delayed after a transient took a security guard’s gun and shot him.
KOMO-TV reports that the incident happened at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday when the guard came across a transient sleeping on the tracks.
Tacoma police spokeswoman Loretta Cool says when the guard woke the transient up, they got into an altercation.
Cool says the transient grabbed the guard’s gun and shot him in the wrist.
The transient ran away and police stopped all trains while they searched for him. He was later found and booked into the Pierce County Jail.
The security guard was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
